M16 NES833 Full Nuts
We procured a small amount of nickel aluminium bronze hexagon material in 24mm hexagon and produced a batch of M16 nuts from this rather interesting material.
This material conformed to DEFSTAN 02-833 and is also known as NES833 which is manufactured to the stringent requirements of the Ministry of Defence (MoD).
NES833 has been developed primarily for offshore and marine applications. It has excellent corrosion resistance in sea water, has high abrasion and wear resistance is of a high strength.
Most of these properties are due to the amount of Nickel being higher than Iron.
