What are Spherical Seat Nuts?
The predominant form of spherical seat nut is DIN 6330. These nuts are typically 1.5d in thickness and the bearing end of the nut has a spherical portion. The radius of this is such that it sits perfectly within a spherical seat washer (DIN6319). When joining two non-parallel components, the spherical side of the nut aids in centring the washer and allows the two portions to become fixed together more readily.
