STAY NUTS
Trojan just manufactured some Stay Nuts in three different sizes using the same batch of material. You may notice that dimensionally these nuts are all the same size except for the internal threaded portion - thats different.
We manufactured these for a Boiler Restoration specialist based in England who happens to go through so many of these and we're grateful for his custom.
Stay nuts are fastened onto Boiler Stay Bolts. Using one across flat (head size) means that tooling is reduced and they can be assembled onto the boiler pretty quickly.
These type of nuts are used quite extensively in the railway locomotive boiler restoration industries.
They are single chamfer and single countersunk too - just aids application and ensures that a good fit against the boiler is maintained.
