M10 GR8 DIN935 SLOTTED NUTS ZINC

Monday 12th December 2022
Yazz

M10 Grade 8 DIN935 Slotted nuts Zinc Cr3 Passivated finish #castlenuts and #slottednuts are used with #cotterpins to secure a nut on a mating part. These are by far the most secure way of ensuring fasteners do not loosen with vibration. Nyloc and all metal prevailing torque locking nuts all have their place but they're still prone to loosening with vibration. Note that DIN935 only allows for Slotted nuts at the M10 size and whilst this can be made into a castle nut it would be a special. We can manufacture slotted and castle nuts from M4 all the way up to M52, and 1/4 to 2.1/4 inches in standard or special sizes. We can do these in left hand as well as oversized…

M16x1.5 special nylon insert nuts to drawing in Brass CZ121

Monday 12th December 2022
Yazz

M16x1.5 special nylon insert nuts to drawing in Brass CZ121 #nylocs are prevailing torque fasteners that have a nylon 6 or 66 ring. This ring deforms when applied to a mating thread and increases friction. This friction creates prevailing torque and thus reduces the ability for the fastener to loosen upon vibration. Nyloc or nylon insert nuts are typically used in continuous service temperatures of between -30 and 95 degrees C. The nuts can withstand use for short periods of up to 165 degrees C but it's not recommended as the ring undergoes thermoplastic deformation at 103 degrees C. For higher temperature use we would recommend either an all-metal prevailing torque locking nut or perhaps one with a ring made from PEEK (PolyEtherEtherKetone)…

M24 DIN934 Nuts made from Aluminium 2011T3

Monday 28th November 2022
Yaz

M24 DIN934 Nuts made from Aluminium 2011T3 Aluminium is not available in hexagon form, so we use a polygon turning process to quickly and efficiently turn a hexagon from round bar. Aluminium isn't the easiest metal to work with in this form - but we produced these nuts within 4 days, which is pretty quick considering the number of processes these nuts undergo for production!

M8 CONNECTOR NUTS (13x16mm THK) BRASS

Tuesday 22nd November 2022

M8 CONNECTOR NUTS in Brass - our customer had a requirement to have 100 of these connector nuts made. We manufactured them within the day and had them ready for collection. Connector nuts are also known as studding connector or connection nuts. These are longer than typical full nuts as they allow the connection of two pieces of studding. Additionally, such long nuts can be used to increase the available proof load of the nut when used on studding - as these are brass, the proof loading figures are quite low, but with increased thread engagement, the proof loading figure also increases.

Castle and Slotted Nuts

Tuesday 8th November 2022

Trojan Special Fasteners Ltd can manufacture all manner of slotted and castle nuts. Castle nuts are typically hex nuts with usually 6 slots (60 degrees apart) in a reduced diameter round section above the wrenching part. When a castle nut (or any radially slotted nut) is applied to a threaded section, it is tightened so that its slot is aligned with a predrilled hole in the bolt or threaded rod, into which a cotter pin, split pin, a lock wire or a spring pin is typically inserted to stop the nut from rotating. These kind of nuts are unsuitable when a specific preload is required because the torque can't be fine-tuned - a result of rotating a nut to align it with…

Hexagon on threaded rod

Thursday 3rd November 2022
Yazz

Our customer tasked us with putting a hexagon face for a spanner on some all thread rods he had. He wanted the biggest hexagon size we could produce on the 30mm allthread bar - knowing that we could produce a proper hexagon, he said he preferred a part threaded' hexagon rod. Have a look at the outcome... we can easily turn hexagon or square on round ends like this.

M14x1.5 to 1/2 BSF Engineering Wheel Studs

Thursday 3rd November 2022

One of our customers had some wheel studs he wanted remade for an old cart. We didn't need him to be an expert because we asked him to send us a stud and we will duplicate it for him - which is exactly what we did. From the day we received the stud, we analysed it's threads and dimensions and set to manufacturing parts for him. He's a happy chappy. Please bare in mind we don't tend to machine many external threads as we specialise in internally threaded fasteners, but for a small run, we can consider doing things like this.

M20x1.5 Special Nuts

Tuesday 1st December 2020

These M20x1.5 special nuts were made for a cheaper price than our customer used to buy these at. Additionally, these type of nuts (with a thin spigot) are used as locking nuts. Typically once these nuts are mounted, the spigot is punched to locate within a groove on a male threaded bolt. We made these within a few days and they were to our customer's drawing and sample.

5/8 UNC Paraboloid Dome Nuts Stainless Steel

Thursday 14th May 2020

5/8 UNC Paraboloid Dome Nuts Stainless Steel It took a while to get the shape of the dome perfectly right, but we managed it in the end and rapidly manufactured these dome nuts in stainless steel. They don't have a typical dome shape - it's more parabolic than rounded, so a much wider forming tool had to be made and shaped to accommodate this. Pretty good job I think. Our customer will no doubt be satisfied with the outcome.
